IOWA CITY — The Big Ten has announced single and double-play conference opponents for the 2024-25 men's basketball regular season.

Here is a look at the Iowa Hawkeyes' schedule:

  • Home only: Indiana, Michigan State, Minnesota, Oregon, Penn State, Purdue, Washington
  • Away only: Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio State, Rutgers, UCLA, USC
  • Home and away: Nebraska, Northwestern, Wisconsin

Game dates, times, and television information will be announced at a later time.

Four new programs enter the Big Ten starting next season — UCLA, USC, Oregon and Washington. Iowa is scheduled to play each of those teams once during the regular season, with UCLA and USC marking stops on the West Coast. Despite the addition of those schools, the league is staying with a 20-game league schedule for each program.

Iowa gets rival Nebraska twice during the 2024-25 regular season. Those two teams only played once last season.

Iowa was an even 10-10 in the Big Ten last season and failed to make the NCAA Tournament. The Hawkeyes have finished .500 or better in Big Ten play in each of the last six seasons.

Here is a look at some of the non-conference games on Iowa's schedule:

  • Rider University on Nov. 19, 2024 (Carver-Hawkeye Arena).
  • Iowa State on Dec. 12, 2024 (Carver-Hawkeye Arena).
  • University of New Orleans on Dec. 15, 2024 (Carver-Hawkeye Arena).
  • University of Utah on Dec. 21, 2024 (Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota).
  • University of New Hampshire on Dec. 30, 2024 (Carver-Hawkeye Arena).

This list is not all-encompassing as more of Iowa's non-conference opponents should surface leading up to the 2024-25 season.

Iowa's roster has seen some turnover recently. Tony Perkins, Patrick McCaffery and Dasonte Bowen each entered the transfer portal, while Ben Krikke exhausted his college eligibility. So far, the Hawkeyes have signed one transfer portal addition, ex-Morehead State guard Drew Thelwell.

There is still more to figure out ahead of the 2024-25 season. Iowa is also waiting on one of the most consequential moments of the offseason, which is when Payton Sandfort decides his future. Sandfort is going through the 2024 NBA Draft process while maintaining his college eligibility.
