Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday launched an all-out attack at the Congress accusing the party of being the ‘mureed’ (follower) of Pakistan. Addressing an election rally in Anand in Gujarat, the Prime Minister said Pakistani leaders want to make “shehzada” of Congress (apparently referring to Rahul Gandhi), the prime minister of India.

“Look at the coincidence, today Congress is getting weak in India, the party is dying here and Pakistanis are crying. Pakistani leaders are praying for Congress. Pakistan is eager to make ‘shehzada’ of Congress India’s prime minister. This partnership between Pakistan and Congress has now been completely exposed,” PM Modi said at the rally.

Pak politician’s praise for Rahul Gandhi

Prime Minister’s remarks came against the backdrop of a social media post by former Pakistan minister Ch Fawad Hussain. Hussain in his post shared excerpts from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s speech with the caption “Rahul on fire.” In his speech, the former Congress chief can be heard slamming the BJP government and Prime Minister Modi.

On Wednesday, BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya took to social media to question the Congress’s association with Pakistan. “Ch Fawad Hussain, who served in the Imran Khan cabinet, as Minister for Information and Broadcasting, is promoting Rahul Gandhi. Is the Congress planning to contest election in Pakistan?” he asked

Mounting his attack, PM Modi said that the weak Congress government used to give dossiers to the “masters of terror” but his “strong government” kills terrorists by entering their homes. “Some powers in the world want a weak government to be at the helm in India,” he said.

PM sharpens attack on Congress over reservation

The Prime Minister reiterated his allegation that the Congress party wants to change India’s Constitution to give reservation of SC, ST and OBC communities to Muslims. He challenged the Congress party to give in writing that they will not change Constitution to give reservation on religious basis. “I challenge Congress to give in writing that it won’t give backdoor quota to Muslims in states where it and its allies are in power,” PM Modi added.
