Here's a look at some of the stories we'll be following today

A community conversation takes place tonight in Wytheville. The Episcopal Diocese of Southwestern Virginia is holding the presentation and discussion at Wytheville Community College. Other meetings were held in Lexington and Roanoke.

The newest grocery store opens today in the Roanoke Valley.  Earth Fare will open its doors this morning.  Earth Fare features organic and natural foods.  The first 100 shoppers in line this morning, will get a mystery gift card worth up to $500.  This is Earth Fare's first location in the commonwealth.

The Heart to Heart conference kicks off today in the Roanoke Valley.  Discussions will focus on "loving our LGBTQ neighbors and strengthening our faith."  Conversations will take place at several locations in the Roanoke Valley, meant to support and encourage the LGBTQ community.

Total Action for Progress and the Virginia Fair Housing Office will talk today about support services for domestic violence victims.  They will talk about domestic violence and housing issues today at the Jefferson Center.

A pre-trial motions hearing takes place for the former Virginia Tech student, who is charged with accessory and concealing a dead body.  Natalie Keepers was last in court in March, where a judge ruled that several parts of police questioning will not be allowed in court.  Keepers is charged in the death of 13 year-old Nicole Lovell.  Her trial is scheduled to start on February 5th.

Students at Auburn High School will learn about the dangers of distracted driving today.  The AT&T virtual reality simulator will be there showing the dangers of checking email, posting to social media and snapping selfies while driving.  Research shows that seven in ten people use their smartphone while driving.

An electronics drive takes place to help those in need.  Park View Community Mission is teaming up with Lighthouse Communications to collect computers, laptops and cell phone.  You can drop off your new or used electronics at Parview through the end of the year.  Your donation is tax deductible.

Carilion Clinic reveals its newest tool in the fight against the opioid epidemic.  At three Carilion pharmacy's, the health care provider has installed MedSafes, where you can dispose of medications.  These will be located at three different locations in the Roanoke and New River Valleys.

A Salem man will get the keys to his new car today.  He is the winner of the Virginia Lottery's Summer Corvette Giveaway.  His prize is a brand new Corvette Stingray.
