The Asian American Activities Center last Saturday, May 4, celebrated the beginning of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with its 2024 Taste of Asia festival at the Tangram in Downtown Flushing.

In addition to enjoying cuisine from China, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Taiwan, those in attendance had the chance to see several traditional cultural performances.

At top, the audience gets a look at the traditional Malaysian Lucky Tiger Dance. Above, two dancers perform the customary Thai Flower Blessing Dance.
